objective

The objective of this project was to pick an entity in the town of Savannah, Georgia and rebrand it, along with a brand manual for the company to use. The rebranding for the Thunderbird Inn in Savannah is inspired by today’s contemporary hotel design. The thunderbird first opened in the 1980s and serves the contemporary culture’s interest in mid century and vintage aesthetic of Savannah.

solution

The new logo of the motel still keeps the iconic thunderbird as a symbol, using the colors yellow and navy blue to symbolize authenticity and power. The bird’s most significant features, the beak and the wings were merged into the name creating the two adaptations of the logotype to be applied flexibly onto any application. To sum up the new branding, a printed brand manual was made, showcasing the proper use of logo, and all its variations, along with various applications such as hotel signage, bicycle, room amenities and business cards.
