objective

The brief of the project was to convert a board game into an app that would be played by people are are not necessarily in the same room. This way, friends and family all across the world can engage in a virtual game night!

solution

Telestrations After Dark Mobile is a game can be played using individual mobile phones with up to 6 people. We aim to make a game for individuals who have and have no played a sketching before with friends in their contact list. We want a simple point system, that determines which player’s status in the game making it easier to keep track and navigate. Through the app, each player will also be timed, therefore reducing unnecessary delays in the game flow.

PROCESS

research: pain points

Before creating the app, we identified the pain points in the original game that took away from the flow of the game. Then we strategized these points into our app that would solve the problem.

research: personas

Collectively as a group, we came up with personas that we think would be ideal players of the game. We identified their age, career paths, where they went to college, their social nature, how much time they devote to their friends and family and general personality.

research: journey map old

This is the user journey of one of our personas displaying how they would be playing the game physically. It touches on their pain points and also mood. This then helped us identify the pain points where our app could potentially improve their experience.

research: structure

Then we built an app structure to determine the steps that would be involved while using the app. We used the pain points in the user journey to solve them here.
